Tom Crawford, PhD

Welcome.  I am a geographer and serve as a Professor and Department Chair of Geography at Virginia Tech.  I am drawn to understanding linkages among people, places, and environment, which is a key characteristic describing our discipline.  Generally, my teaching and research defines me as a human-environment geographer who frequently uses geospatial application methods.  My main job is to work with our faculty, students, university colleagues and external partners to help produce an awesome department that makes an impact for good in our world.
